Kwatale Collection is in the Greater Moremi in northern Botswana, between the Okavango Delta and Nxai Pan. The camp sits on its own private concession, NG43. At 3,460 km², it is almost the size of Mallorca and about five times the size of Singapore. Moremi, Khwai, Mababe, Savuti and Chobe are within reach. Kwatale Collection is not a water-based Delta camp: the landscape is dry bushland with waterholes. The drive from Maun takes about two hours.

Kwatale Collection is open year-round, including the green season, when many Delta camps close. July to October is the dry and peak season, when wildlife gathers at the waterholes. April to June (in 2027, from the May opening) is quieter, with pleasant temperatures. The Emerald Season (green season) from November to March brings green landscapes, newborn animals and migratory birds. The concession also lies on a zebra and elephant migration route.

Kwatale Collection sits on its own private 3,460 km² concession, almost the size of Mallorca, and hosts a maximum of ten guests in five tents. National park rules apply in Moremi Game Reserve, where night drives, bush walks and off-road driving are not permitted. In Khwai, many camps share the same area. At Kwatale Collection, night drives and bush walks are part of the programme, and there are no other vehicles at sightings. The camp is also open year-round.

Yes. Like many concessions in northern Botswana, NG43 was used for hunting in the past. Since Kwatale Collection took over the concession, the land has been dedicated to photographic tourism and conservation for the full term of the concession. There is no trophy hunting, and Kwatale Collection works actively against poaching. Through the Kwatale Association, a Swiss non-profit, funds go to wildlife protection and local communities.

Yes. The Kwatale Collection Mobile Safari can be added to a stay at the camp or booked separately. It goes deeper into the concession or out to the neighbouring regions of Moremi, Khwai, Mababe, Savuti and Chobe. A popular option is the Kwatale Collection Signature Trip: 2 nights at the camp plus 2 nights on mobile safari in the east of the concession.

Around a two-hour drive from Maun. We can organise your transfer on request – or you can drive yourself. You’ll receive the route, coordinates and all the necessary information in advance.

Self-drivers are very welcome. Kwatale Collection is the ideal stop-off on a Botswana route towards Moremi, Khwai, Mababe, Savuti or Chobe – and, thanks to its proximity to Maun, is also easily accessible from there.

Day and night game drives, walks, sleep-outs and bush skills included; further excursions and the mobile safari can be booked as add-ons.

Botswana is a malaria zone – please discuss preventative measures with your doctor or a travel clinic in good time.

Many nationalities (including Switzerland, the EU and the UK) do not require a visa for tourist visits – please check the latest requirements. Bring a valid passport.

Currency: Pula (BWP). As stays are largely all-inclusive, you’ll mainly need money for (voluntary) tips.
