Kwatale Association – It takes a village to make a difference.

Kwatale Collection is more than just a camp. Behind the wilderness lies a conviction: that nature and people belong together – and that tourism can benefit both, rather than harm them. This conviction has taken shape in the form of the Kwatale Association, a non-profit organisation based in Switzerland and active in Botswana.

Two causes, one vision
The Kwatale Association works in Switzerland and Botswana to promote two things that we believe are inseparable:

Because one cannot exist without the other. Wilderness remains wild only if the people who live alongside it see a future within it.

What we're working on

  • Protection rather than poaching – preserving land, wildlife and biodiversity, and actively combating poaching.
  • Local training and opportunities – from guides to the people who bring Kwatale to life.
  • Strengthening health, education and livelihoods in local communities.
  • Raising awareness of the connection between people and nature.
  • Partnerships with local and international organisations – with clear agreements and reporting to ensure every contribution goes exactly where it’s needed
Between Two Worlds

Like Kwatale itself, the association is at home in two worlds: based in Switzerland, with its heart in Botswana. The Swiss structure stands for reliability and transparency, whilst the work on the ground delivers real, visible impact. In between lies a team that knows both worlds – and a community of people who roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

Clearly Organised

The Kwatale Association is a politically and religiously independent, non-profit organisation under Swiss law (Art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code), based in Winterthur and founded in 2026. The association does not pursue any commercial aims; all funds are channelled exclusively towards the association’s objectives.
