Dry land with character.
Kwatale is not a water-delta camp – and that's exactly what makes it special. Instead of mokoro romance, you'll find vast, vibrant dry-country wilderness with its own distinct residents: lion, leopard, hyena and elephant, along with giraffe, kudu, impala, warthog and ostrich. And the rarer antelope species that few guests ever get to see – sable, roan, eland, oryx and steenbok – plus a rich world of birds and reptiles.

Right in the middle of it, not on the edge.
We sit in the corridor of the Okavango-Makgadikgadi zebra migration – one of Africa's greatest animal migrations. Every year, thousands of zebras pass through exactly here, moving between the Okavango Delta and the endless plains of the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans. Several hundred kilometres, year after year, following the same ancient call. It's no coincidence that two of them stand in our logo: when the herds come through, the whole land changes – and you find yourself right in the middle of that movement.

Elephants and buffalo are part of this picture too. Sometimes a lone bull passes by; sometimes a herd of a hundred or more suddenly appears, where a moment ago there was nothing at all.

Where there's water, there's life.
We don't have a river – but we do have waterholes, where everything gathers. One of them sits right in front of the camp. Sit down, wait, and the bush comes to you.

And standing above it all are our baobabs – ancient trees that were here long before us, and will remain long after we're gone. They are the memory of this land.
